How we choose casinos

We do not list hundreds of casinos. Every casino is reviewed before it makes the site, and the findings are summarised in the pros and cons on each card. At minimum we check:

  • The size of the bonus and which side of the site it applies to
  • The pros and cons on the card, recorded during testing
  • Tax-free status: whether the licence comes from the EEA
  • How well the site works for a Finnish player

Bonusrotta points are calculated with an open formula from the findings recorded in our review: base 3.0 · +0.2 for each pro · −0.25 for each con · +0.4 for tax-free winnings. The result is capped between 1.0 and 5.0 and rounded to one decimal place, with an exact half rounded up. The formula is deliberately simple and verifiable: it tells you how the pros and cons on a card weigh up — nothing more.

What is Bonusrotta?

Bonusrotta is a Finnish comparison site for casino bonuses and betting offers. We do not list hundreds of casinos — only the ones we would use ourselves, and every casino is gone through before it makes the list. The site is funded through partner links: signing up through a link costs the player nothing and does not change the size of the bonus.

What do Bonusrotta points mean?

The points are calculated with an open formula from the pros and cons on the card: a base of 3.0, plus 0.2 for every pro, minus 0.25 for every con, and 0.4 for tax-free winnings. The whole formula is shown in the How we choose section on the front page, so you can work the number out yourself and check it.

Are casino winnings tax-free?

It depends on the licence: winnings from a casino licensed inside the EEA are tax-free in Finland, winnings from elsewhere are not. We have collected the EEA-licensed options on the Tax-free casinos page, and the pros on the card say so when a casino belongs to that group.

What is the Rat’s daily pick?

The Rat picks out at most one bet a day: the best value spot the odds comparison finds, when there is one. Every bet is published before kick-off and the result is recorded exactly as it lands, losses included. The tips are not investment advice.
